It’s luggage and airports for the next wee while for the Fresh Fast & Frugal crew as we head off to see family for Christmas. I’ll be taking a much needed break for the next month, and while I may still pop in every now and then on stories, it will otherwise be pretty quiet around here. In the meantime, you’ll find links to my free recipes and resources via the link below. I wish you all a joyful and peaceful Christmas, and I’ll see you all with lots of big and exciting things for Fresh Fast & Frugal in 2023.www.freshfastfrugal.com/links ... See MoreSee Less

It’s been a while, but there’s a new recipe up on the website today. This fruit pizza is the perfect dessert for this time of year. It has a delicious biscuity base made with oats and spelt flour (that can be cooked ahead of time), and is topped with cream cheese and loads of seasonal fruit. The kids (and grown-ups) will love it! It’s a while since I’ve posted a dinner on here, but this is a great example of the most popular type of dinner at our place: what I call DIY Dinners. You see, I have a couple of super fussy kids who turn their nose up at most of the things I cook…(I live in hope they’ll appreciate my cooking one day 🙄). But presenting a meal this way, with lots of different components for them to choose from means that there will usually be something that they’ll happily eat. Tonight it was spicy salmon bowls, with an option of chicken for the two kids who aren’t fans of fish. And even though Miss 6 initially even rejected the rice 🤯, she ended up happily eating rice, seaweed, veggies and a small piece of chicken. Had I served this up in bowls myself, she would definitely have rejected it outright, but giving her control to build her own bowl meant she was more willing to try. If you’re struggling with fussy eaters, try deconstructing your meals like this and see if it makes a difference. And if you’re looking for more inspo for these types of meals, as well as lots of tips, you can grab my DIY Dinners ebook here: www.freshfastfrugal.com/shop ... See MoreSee Less
